I thought that AU was a need blind admission? Doesn’t that mean that if you can’t afford to pay big time money that they could cover your whole tuition?
You have a lot of questions about some basic concepts (in this and other posts). Is there a guidance counselor at your high school who can help you sort these things out?
“Need blind” relates to the college making an admission decision without regard to how much financial need the student may have, not to the amount of financial aid that may be awarded to an accepted student. “Need aware” schools may decide to wait list or not accept a student who appears to have a lot of financial need.
AU generally doesn’t meet the student’s full need. However, there are some generous, highly competitive scholarships for exceptionally well-qualified applicants, including the Frederick Douglass Scholarship, which covers full tuition, fees, room, board, and books.Further information can be found on the AU web site.
