Need College Advice!

Hello, I am currently a sophomore student at Seton Hall University, a small Catholic school in Northern New Jersey. Recently, I have re-evaluated my situation at Seton Hall and feel I could thrive at a more competitive school. After completing research and reviewing my grades/test scores/extra curricular activities(listed below), I have decided to apply to the University of Virginia and the University of North Carolina. I am asking anyone who has any knowledge about these schools at whether or not you think I would be able to be admitted to these schools. Also, does anyone have any recommendations to schools I should apply to(preferably down south)? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Ending High School GPA: 3.1 our of 4.0
SAT score: 1850
Seton Hall University GPA: 3.498 out of 4.0

both worth applying, but probably stretches (UNC is particularly hard for out of state kids…im assuming you’re in jersey)

could you expand a bit more on what you’re looking for?
big? small? social scene?

would you consider some smaller liberal arts colleges like sewanee, davidson, W&L, university of richmond, furman, centre, and rhodes? for me, i turned out to like those better than traditional university settings like uva and unc.

posting your inquiry on this board would also probably be helpful! :)

knowing your extracurriculars would also help

Well I am just looking for schools that is a top university in the south. Really big or small doesn’t affect my decision because I know I could handle either size. I do enjoy a social thing as well as decent sports teams. As for which type of school I’m looking for, preferably business would be great. I will also list some of my extra curricular activities below.

Started a Lacrosse team at my school.
Write for my schools news paper.
Part of Italian Student Union.
F.O.C.U.S.-A catholic charity group
I am going to become involved with a business leadership program(similar to an honors program)

One more thing, I’m from Connecticut Thanks!
