Also don't A LOT of int. students apply for financial aid...won't that bolster my chances as an int. applicant?

Upenn took 1 admit from my school, 1 waitlist, and 7 other admits in my city...they love Pakistanis :p

Every year we get atleast 2 admits from our grad. class in my school...so chances can't be that bleak can they...and since I'm one of the top 4 students...only one applying ED from my school...and probably the city...(i kno the major schools and capable applicants...most people can't afford US college tuitions in this country)

Until or Unless you go to either a AES (American Embassy School) somewhere in Asia or IB World school, it is difficult to say what can happen.

I don't think colleges like Pakistan any more than other countries in Asia.

Not applying for Financial Aid won't make any difference now a days, there are lot of Asian (in pure number) that can afford Ivies tuitions than before.

You need to check IB world schools all over Asia (Pick any country you choose) the High School tuition ranges from $10,000 to $30,000 which is same as that of top of line Private Schools in USA/UK.

So I don't think now a days there are any dearth of Asian applicant that actually can afford to pay tuition.

Whle taking break from her AP calc BC exams my daughter mentioned that if you are a female from Pakistan then you may get some preferences because as part of the World History they have studied the conditions of female in Pakistan is not that great and not many get chances to go to good schools.

Yea it's an american embassy school...accredited by middle states association Wash. DC.
