Hi all!
I’m a high school senior and am currently working on applying Carnegie Mellon University. I’m finished writing two of their three required essays, but the second prompt is giving me some issues so I wanted to pop on here and get some advice. Here’s the prompt:
Many students pursue college for a specific degree, career opportunity or personal goal. Whichever it may be, learning will be critical to achieve your ultimate goal. As you think ahead to the process of learning during your college years, how will you define a successful college experience? (300-word maximum)
I’ll be applying for Economics to the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but am also looking to pursue a minor in something like Operations and Supply Chain Management through Tepper.
For those of you that currently attend CMU, could I ask how you would describe the university? I love what I’ve found about Carnegie Mellon on their website, and through the interviews and articles I’ve read I know it’s a very driven but creative environment. I’m definitely a doer, and I love the emphasis that CMU puts on that. I would love to hear about any specific stories or examples, though, that would embody CMU’s creativity in the general economics or business area.
Thank you so much!!
