@cag60093 Thanks for the clarification. Congrats on him getting into USC early.
The private money can also be stacked with NEU National Merit Scholarship
@youcee Thanks. S is going to the Explore event next week. Let’s hope he’ll do well in the interview.
@suzyQ7. Thanks for letting me know. I finally got a call back from the NEU staff person about the NMF award of “possible $30k.” I was told that for S, he will receive additional $5k annually if he choose NEU as his NMF first choice by 4/3. He was originally awarded $20k. He doesn’t qualify for the full amount of $30k because he did not apply for the honors program. If I had known about it earlier in the process, then I would of made S apply to the honors program. Oh well.
@cag60093 there is no application for the honors program at NEU. It clearly says so on the website and I know it for a fact since my kid WAS accepted to the program and there was no app. Please call them again…you are getting misinformation and I would ask to speak to a superior who can give you correct info. They need to explain in what situations you don’t get the 30k and why they are giving you all kinds of wrong info.

From site :
"There is no separate application process for the Honors Program. Decisions are rendered based on the undergraduate admissions application submitted to the university. Students are considered for entry as part of the Early Decision, Early Action and Regular Decision processes.
The invitation to join the University Honors Program will be included in the official admission letter. "
