I'm a 3rd year at a UC and don't have any prior work experience or current extra curricular/volunteering. Does anyone have advice on how to find an entry-level job through work-study or where I should even begin? The jobs I'm finding through my campus online (UCSB) have requirements I don't feel I meet (mostly prior experience). I've also checked out some clubs on campus here and there and haven't found one that I like or feel comfortable in (i.e. some felt extremely professional/sophisticated) and am wondering if I should even pursue those kinds of extra-curricular or just search for a job instead. I'm unsure about going to grad school but would like to keep that option open which is why I want to gain experience before applying (though I may take a break from school after I receive my bachelor's in Sociology). So yes, I am very uncertain as to what to do! I know I really need to get the ball rolling and get more involved somehow but I feel really clueless as to how to do this. :/

Don’t select yourself out of a job. If you think it seems interesting, apply for it. Most jobs “require” some kind of “experience” to hire people, but you need to start somewhere.
