Need help...been accused of cheating on AP

If all else fails, find your proctor and egg his house and car.

Okay, first off, a lot of you (but not all) are ****s. I know I *ed up. Trust me, I have my parents and schools admins making me feel bad enough. I made a mistake.

Apparently there is no formal appeal process…so I sent a letter, along with all the supporting info, so we will see.

When the school found the phone, it was off. I was originally allowed to retake the test tomorrow. When they found out about the text, that was when I was told the scored would be cancelled and no retest would be allowed.

I know it is a long shot…but I was hoping someone might know someone else who went through the same thing.

Now I am totally freaking out cause someone mentioned ALL MY SCORES getting cancelled. This was my 7th AP exam.

ETS/College Board (I thought they were one in the same) received my info today, I will update when I find out what they say, if they even respond at all.

nicks1001, sometimes in life we do the dumbest things and we have to live with the consequences. I’m sorry this happened to you. By all means pursue the appeal, but also look into alternative accreditation.

If you want the credit for college, check if your college accepts CLEP credit. If they do, then go down to your nearest CLEP center ASAP and take the CLEP exams in the same subjects as your APs while the material is still fresh in your mind. Some colleges (Georgia Tech, UMASS), also accept a high score on an SAT II for credit. Many colleges also have Advanced Standing exams or Credit by Exam test during orientation week.

Good luck.

^Very good advice. I agree.

I just finished taking the AP Eng Lit exam and after the test one of the girls in my class took out her phone. Although the test was done the proctor got upset because we were all told to put bring our phones to the front of the room. The proctor is calling College Board and she might get her score canceled. :(

@nicks1001: That’s terrible that you might get your score canceled when you didn’t actually cheat. And yet the thousands of kids that do cheat never get caught. Sigh

hhahaha redjohn got it right the first time,

and I’ll just say this,
either way whatever comes out it’s not the end of the world,
you didn’t cheat and that’s all that really matters on a moral level,
you should appeal since that will do more than just slumping, and present your case and be transparent,

did you break the rules? yes, thats non negotiable and I think if u admit that you realize now the issues is true that you broke the rules, but you had no wrong intentions and should compromise, take the AP test and they should use whatever was the lower grade to ensure fairness,

^Umm, this thread is about 4 months old.
