Need Help Deciding

Hi. I want to major in Physics undergrad and definitly plan on grad school. I got rejected from 6 schools yesterday haha (Harvard, Yale, Duke, Northwestern, Penn, Cornell) though to tell you the truth i am not upset at all.

Here is what I am looking at. University of Wisconsin - Madison (Honors Program), University of Michigan- Ann Arbor(Honors Program), Penn State University - University Park(Honors College), and Carnegie Mellon.

I have visited all but carnegie mellon (i plan to soon) and i have a fairly good idea of what each program is about. UWI and UM really impressed me and both acknowledged eachothers physics programs as highly ranked with tons going on. I know all about the research oppurtunities but i am still having trouble making my choice.

Does anyone know anything about the UM physics departments or hooks for UM over the other schools listed?

Oh and strong music program is an important factor (I play classical and jazz trumpet).

Thanks!

I can't really speak to the physics programs - but, as you surely know, Michigan has a highly regarded music school and there are lots of opportunities for non-music majors to participate in orchestras. If you like sports, there's also the marching band. Don't see where you are from, but it would be hard to choose Penn State over any of your other choices, unless you are from PA and money is an issue.
