Need help for choosing university (physics major) : international student physics

I earned an scholarship to study physics from undergrad to PhD from my country.
So far, I got wait list from brown and virginia. And got accepted from RPI, Carleton, UIUC, UCSB.

If I got rejected from Brown's waiting-list, which college should I go to.
I'm asian boy and don't like cold weather (but I can live in cold climate if it is necessary). I want to go to good physics grad school.

best overall school on this list is Carleton College. If you want a research college, RPI is probably the better choice. If you want to go back to Asia, more people would probably know about Illinois or UCSB.

Just consider that.

They are all good (though ranking-wise, UIUC and UCSB are more prominent than RPI for physics). Do you prefer a bigger school (UIUC or UCSB; more opportunities and course offerings, but need to be more aggressive in using the opportunities) or a smaller school (Carleton or RPI)? Check each school’s course catalogs and schedules to see whether they offer the physics and other courses you are interested in, and how often.

UCSB has the least cold weather (you see sunny beach?).

yes if you prefer warmer weather, UCSB is the place to go.

This is a UCSB choice, not only for the warm weather and beautiful location, but for its top Physics department.

Thank you u guys very much. Do u know which is the best college that will help me get into the top school like MIT in grad?

UCSB. One of the top physics departments in the US. Be sure to look into its very selective physics program here:

[College of Creative Studies, UC Santa Barbara - Physics - Home](http://www.ccs.ucsb.edu/physics/)

limited to just a handful of students, graduate level research opportunities right away, publishing, close contacts with world-famous faculty. The serious physics student’s dream. Grads from this program get into all the great graduate programs, MIT, Princeton, Harvard - the works. Others love it so much, they stay at UCSB all the way through PhD, turning down lucrative offers from elsewhere.

^^^^^I have seen UCSB Creative Studies Physics majors get into top 5 graduate school programs in Physics as recent as this year

I forget to tell you guys that I got accepted into college of creative study already.
Now, I have only UIUC and UCSB (college of creative study) in my mind right now.
What about the social life in UCSB? I kind of not like a party(which i heard that it is party school). Will I be ok for that?
