Need help for June SAT (Tips/Guide)

Alright so i just finished up with the subject tests today and now i have to start studying for the June SAT test. I have exactly 26 days to study since the test is on 2nd June. I am taking it for the first time, i have to aim for a 1800+ since that is what my university requires.

I have already been learning the vocabulary words, have memorized more then 250 words and aimming for learning 500 in total atleast. I am learning the words from a list of compiled high frequency barrons and kaplans words. (Link to list incase anyone needs it: Barron's/Kaplan's High Frequency Words )

Now i have the collegeboards blue book, a 2008 edition as far as i can tell, i hope its not obsolete since i will be reading it from tommorow.

So now i need the rest of the guide from you guys on how i should be studying in these few days. Need a guide for almost everything since this is the first time. Someone recommended me to go through the "writing a 12 mark essay in 10 days" thread for learning to write essays. Anyways you guys can help me better. :)

Silverturtle’s and Xiggi’s guides. Look at the sticky at the top of this forum since it has a TON of useful stuff.

Hmm i’ll go through them once.

Anymore suggestions? since i’m short on time, i need to smart study to score as high as i can in the test.

Oh and btw this is the edition of the college board official sat study guide that i have.
[Amazon.com: The Official SAT Study Guide: For the New SAT (9780874477184): The College Board: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Official-SAT-Study-Guide/dp/0874477182)

I hope the format and everything hasn’t changed and this is still good enough for preparing for the test since buying the new latest guide is not possible for me right now.

^ As I know, the format hasn’t changed, and 7 of the 10 tests in the newest book are exactly the same as 7 tests in this book. Some guys even recommend that whoever exhausted the new book could get this book just for the one different test lol.

^ Hmm this seems fine then.

Btw since i just gave Maths level II yesterday, and was quite well prepared for it so will that be beneficial in anyway for me when doing the SAT I Math?

Can anyone post a link to the “how to write a 12 marks essay in 10 days” thread. I can’t seem to find it anywhere, either that or it never existed. o_O

Edit: Never mind, i found it. :D

Haha, Saw you have the blue book so never mind

You have the right book - do all the practice tests in there and learn your way around. If you finish those, the online COllege board course has 6 more practice tests.

For vocab - that high yield list is solid. There are several good vocab apps out there if you have an iPhone or iPod touch. I can let you know what they are if you’d like.

Good luck!!

I don’t even know if i’ll be able to finish all the practice given in the blue book only by the end of this month.

I have only learned 300 words uptill now, i hope i will be able to learn them all but given by my attitude towards this test i don’t think i would be. :/

Getting a 1600 on this test even seems difficult now…■■■!

Edifier, I’m in nearly the same boat you are… I just really don’t feel like beginning my preparation. I have learned many words, like yourself, and am studying those daily, but I can’t bring myself to begin practicing in the Blue Book.

Except, I’ve already received a 1620 on the SAT back in March. So… bleh.

If you don’t have time to sit down and do a four hour practice test, it’s okay to just do a section or two after dinner or before school during the week and take full tests on weekends.
