I’m currently finding it a little difficult to search for colleges. I don’t really have a feel for what I want to do yet, and nothing really stands out to me as of now. I’d like to do something that probably pertains to STEM, or business. I’ve also thought of accounting. My UW GPA is at a 3.8 right now, but I’ll be retaking a AP Calculus online, the one class I “messed up in”, which should bring it up to a 3.88. Weighted, I’m looking at around a 4.2. My SAT is around a 2100, and I may take the new one in the fall. As of right now, I’m probably not going to be applying ED, as I don’t have any surefire choices. I live in WA, and would prefer to stay on the West Coast, but I am open to anything. Paying for my own college, I’ll probably need help finding scholarships as well. I’ve thought about the University of Washington, as well as UCLA, USC, etc. I will be the first in my family to attend college, so it’s sort of a new process for us. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
You will get nothing from the UCs being OOS so take those off your list. Look here for some options:
http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/ Make sure you check the school’s web sites because some scholarships that used to be automatic are becoming competitive award.
UWash is a good in-state option.
Look into colleges that meet full need:
-Harvey Mudd College (STEM)
-Reed College (STM, but no E)
-Scripps College (STEM)
You may get merit at these schools:
-Loyola Marymount University (STEM + Business minor)
-Pepperdine University (Business)
If you’ll consider other areas of the country, you’ll have even more options.
^ Meets full need is only useful if OP’s parents do not have money. OP stated she is paying for college, but did not state whether her parents could (but are not willing) to pay for it.
