Need Help on NYU and APs :)

Hey guys, I was accepted to NYU ED and I am not sure of what AP tests to take this spring.

This questions kind of long so please bear with me.

From Last year I have Bio(8 credits), Psych(4 credits), and U.S. History(4 credits)=16 total.

Stern has 128 credits total that one must take. With Last years AP tests, I am down to 112 left to take. This means that it is 14 credits evenly over 8 semesters.

However, could I take 16 credits for my first six semesters(Freshman - Junior Year) then take 8 credits each semester senior year which would save me about $8000 senior year.

I was just wondering if this was possible to do since I wouldn't mind saving some money?
I was also thinking about doing 18 credits a semester but that could get a little hectic.

Side Note: Should I take the Chemistry AP exam this spring which would give me 8 credits and would leave me with only 104 credits total to complete?

Thanks a lot, I know its a lot but I need to decide on AP exams by the end of the week.

Come on guys.....I don't like being pushy but I need to decide and hand in AP paperwork by the end of the week.

I am getting desperate....lol.

Thanks

i think 8 credits puts you at part-time, which might render you ineligible for financial aid, wouldn't it? most classes are 4 credits (at least for me, in Steinhardt) so i don't even know how common it is for someone to take 14 credits. i have no clue about Stern, so i might be totally off-base :P.

no reason to take Chem since you already have the 8 credits of NatSci. you don't need more than that.

google brought up this: http://www.google.com/search?q=nyu+ap+credit+stern&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I guess I can't do that.

So is there any point to taking AP exams and getting credit from them since you can't save money?

^^ My reasoning for why I opted out of all 5 I could have taken this year ^^
Most of the schools I applied to don't take anything for credit =/

you graduate faster. it frees up your schedule. you might graduate a semester faster.

i don't think part-time students (less than 12 credits) can stay in the housing system, either.

I guess I could graduate faster but wouldn't it be weird graduating in the Fall when all your friends graduate in the Spring?

I'm still considering only taking 8 credits per semester senior year and I don't necessarily need NYU housing since it only takes me 30-45 min. train ride to get to NYU.

if you graduate in winter, you can still walk in all-university commencement in the spring.
