Now before I start giving you information, I go to one of the best prep schools in the nation. My grades are really low, but I really your help for this.

Class Year: 2008
Age:16 soon to be 17 in July :)
Race:Asian
Born: America
Languages: Chinese,English,Spanish
Sat Score: 2175

I need help picking a good undergraduate school that could possibly accept me.

10th Grade Averages

Term 1: 73

Term 2: 75

Term 3: 76

11th Grade Averages

Term 1: 78

Term 2: 81

Term 3: 78

My grades are very low, I went from a public school to one of the hardest schools in the nation. My college counselor tells me that this increase in term averages is what colleges like to see, Is that true? Hypothetically speaking, what if I got a 90 average for my first term of senior year? What colleges do you think I should apply to with undergrad business? If I constructed a well-thought out essay, will that help at all?

Please don't laugh at me, I am know I am not the most brilliant kid here, it makes me upset.

WOW......there is a problem. have u taken any business related classes? accounting maybe?

a 2100 something....... are u making up these grades? or are u just lazy?

no these grades are real, It is just that when going from public school to a preparatory boarding school, my grades went down. No in my school they don't offer business courses.

well...if i were u i'd go to a school not well-known for business.... maybe a local university that offers a business program but the program isn't ranked that high..... i think your 1st problem is getting into a college in the 1st place.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, so your saying im not going to be able to get into any college, omg :(

i have no idea. you have nice SAT. but you have the worst gpa. you need to talk to your highschool counselor.

Well... first I may have to point out that there's no such score as a 2175... did you mean 2170? :-) Your high C/low B average is certainly less than spectacular, but maybe you have outstanding ECs, it could be alright. Don't use going to a new, much harder school as too much of an excuse- after all, plenty of people do that when they go to college and lots of them succeed.

USC is a match/reach for you, I think. The only other school I can think of with a good business program is my state school, Arizona State University, so if you like sunshine and good-looking people (apparently ASU is famous for having an attractive student body)...

Thank you barbara, I will work on USC and ASU, umm my sat is in the 2170's thats all i know, i am trying to remember my account which i signed up for collegeboard so i can find it

Try one of the Jesuit schools: www.ajcunet.edu

They all have undergraduate business programs. I have heard good things about Regis, Seattle, and Loyola Marymount. With your SAT score you have a shot at those three for sure. Don't fear; you will get into college somewhere. You would be a good candidate for San Jose State or Sonoma State in California.
