Need help Quick- Housing

I've finally made up my mind to get an off-campus dorm really quick. I'm pretty much set on dobie (but still sort of considering university towers) because I need the closest thing to campus and I'm not into getting an apartment. I know there have been a thousand threads on which is better (towers or dobie) but I can't tell which one would fit me better. Here are my needs by priority.

Distance

Functional Internet

Cleanliness

Amt. of Space

Also, if I were to get a dorm at Dobie, what type of room would you suggest I get?

Hey,
Just so you know, Dobie center is full, they are only accepting applications for waitlist. So unless you already paid the fee, the chances are very slim. But I am sure you can still get in to University Towers(also the Castilian).
But I can’t really answer your question, because I don’t actually know much these dorms(I am going to be living at the Castilian though). All I know is University Towers is the farthest.

oh really? I was told that only certain types of rooms were full. Thanks for letting me know!

Call Dobie and ask what types of rooms are available.

Yeah i think so. if you go to their website it says “Dobie Center is currently full. We are only accepting applications for our waitlist.” Also I went to visit there three weeks ago and they told me it was already full and there was no point getting to the waitlist.

I am not 100% sure though. So you might want to call and ask them.

Wow that is some major procrastinating.

With only 2 weeks before school starts, if you manage to find a place to live, you should feel really lucky as it is.

I REALLY REALLY hope you have a contract for on campus housing as a backup.

University Towers & Castilian are still available as of today, if not Dobie. If you are a party guy & don’t mind loud music/noise, then pick Towers (their rooms are much nicer than both Dobie & Castilian, in my opinion). If not, then sign a contract with Castilian. If neither, then try your best to find an apartment nearby (their are other threads that talk about diff. apartments). I’ll be living at the Castilian. I asked them for a contract and their accountant, Scott, sent me all the pages in email. I read over, signed it, and faxed it the same day and had my room reserved. They offered me a $200 discount off of the $400 confirmation fee b/c i applied within 72 hours of the Castilian dorm tour/visit. See if you can pull that off. They usually make you fill out a form for your general info. at the tour. Good luck.

I think she was offered supplemental housing (a lounge) and does not want to start the year off in a lounge because there would be four people in the room. There may still be some room available in one of the ICC houses (New Guild), if the “current openings” web page is up to date.

Here is the other UT Austin co-op group:

21st is the only one open (if you are a girl). I don’t really like it but I like this co-op student organization thing.

And why won’t you get an apartment? You can’t really be picky when you decide to live off campus a week before move in.

Yeah, I was up to probably get supplementary housing. But I called them and it looks like I’m going to get a normal room so I’m happy with that. Thanks for all the comments though.
