hi im an incoming freshman and so far the courses i have for fall 2012 are egr 100 (3 units) eng 96(0 units) and mat12(0 units), when i try to enroll for another course e.g. economics or u.s. history(4 units) it gives me an error “unit limit exceeded for appointment period”, i’m able to add something like kinesiology (1 unit) but that does not even cover any general ed credits which im trying to fill up. i believe the gap is 16 units, but clearly 3<16 and in case those courses are really 4 units(instead of 0) that totals up to 4+4+4+4=16.

I’m not sure how it works for freshmen but let me try to explain it to you from a transfer viewpoint. I went to orientation on July 12th and I was only allowed to enroll in 13 units for my appointment period. That is, to my knowledge, all you can enroll for until August 17th. August is a schedule adjustment period where you are allowed to enroll in up to 16 units or perhaps more.
