Need help to decide between W&M, ASU and St. John's

I am in a big dilemma. I am an international student and I have been accepted to the W&M Mason School of Business MS Accounting, ASU W.P. Carey School of Business MS Accounting and St. John’s Tobin School of Business MS Accounting Program. Generally, international students face hardship in securing employment. I have heard that employment opportunities for international students are much more in NY than any other states. I am not sure if I want to attend St. John’s since it is not as highly ranked as other two schools. W&M and ASU accounting programs are highly ranked but I am really concerned about the employment opportunities in those regions. HELP PLEASE!

I can’t speak to employment ops for int’ls particularly but if you can get your degree anywhere and still look for work in NY. Sure I would agree with you and tend to go for a higher rates program.

Well, I’m pretty sure that ASU’s Carey School is in the top 30 business schools nationwide. What @BrownParent said is right - you can go to business school anywhere and end up in New York; I interned at a market research firm and people had done their MBAs all over the country. Plus, if you go to a top business school, the recruiters will come to you - they go to the top business schools in the country to recruit, including the recruiters from the Big 4 accounting firms.

Thank you. @BrownParent & @juillet, what are your thoughts about The college of William & Mary?

@juillet, I know Carey’s MBA is nationally recognized, but I am not sure how the employment opportunities for international students are there. Also you know its a huge school, so I’ll be competing against the domestic students for jobs. One of the career advisors at my undergrad institute said that big four offices in NY has bigger capital so they tend to spend more on visas and stuff.

I did not know that W&M has an MBA. I know them as a highly regarded LAC. Also there is a separate MBA forum you might do better to post there.

To find out more about William and Mary’s MBA program, specifically regarding employment statistics for comparison, you might want to check out here (http://mason.wm.edu/careers/data/). It even includes a section for foreign nationals, so you can better make an informed decision about where to attend
