Hello, i have my college list made but i feel like all of my schools are matches and reaches. I was just wondering if u could look at my stats and suggest schools that would be basically guarenteed acceptance. i prefer the school to be nofurther south than north carolina but besides that there arent really any restrictions.

State schools tend to be more stats driven. You can try SUNY-Geneseo or St. Mary’s College of Maryland. There’s a desirability factor to these colleges that make them more attractive than conventional safeties. In terms of private schools, Hobart & William Smith might be my choice. It’s important to show interest wherever you apply.
What matches and reaches do you like and why? Perhaps then people can suggest schools with similar characteristics yet more forgiving admission rates.
Safeties have to be known to be affordable. It does no good to be accepted to a safety only to find out that your parents won’t pay for it.
How much will your parents pay? If you’re not sure, ask them.

You should retest and practice the CR section. No one cares about the W score so don’t spend time on that.
You have a 1350 M+CR. That’s about an ACT 30/31 There are a number of schools that will surely admit you, but we don’t know if they’re affordable.
What is your major and career goal?
Apply to both Towson (safety) and UMD-BC (likely). Go with in-state publics. If you end up attending a school down in safety/likely territory, then at least save some money. You’re not gaining a heck of a lot in “prestige”, at that academic level, with a private that’s going to run you $25,000+ more per year.
http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/ indicates that you would get an automatic full ride at NC Central and automatic full tuition plus room at Howard. There are a several other automatic full tuition or better scholarships in that list at colleges south of North Carolina.
@doschicos my list that im definitely applying to is UMD College Park, VA Tech, Penn state, UMichigan, UDelaware, Ohio State, and UNC.
@mom2collegekids i plan on majoring in mechanical engineering. Also money isnt an issue since my parents make 300,000+. The one thing they make me pay for in this process is my sat and act. I have already spent over 150 dollars on standardized testing out of my own pocket so unfortunately i am not gonna take anymore tests. So my scores i have now are permanent
They’re really prepared to pay $50K+/year for an OOS school? Good for you.
@“Erin’s Dad” if i get into UMD college park ill be going there. Its my favorite school and has everything i like. Its also instate tuition and only a 45 minute drive

Sorry, but your parents are being “penny-wise and pound foolish”. The idea that they won’t lay out $60 (or whatever the cost is now) for SAT or ACT tests for a good chance at thousands of dollars in merit, but they’ll pay full price for an OOS public is just CRAZY.
Do your parents realize this?? Maybe they haven’t considered this. You need to tell them that if you score a bit higher, you could get thousands of dollars in merit to reduce THEIR costs.
