I was late with paying for my university bill and then my parents began to buy a house. When i tried to take out a loan by myself with sallie mae it wouldnt let me since i have no credit history. My parents told me that they were unable to take any loans out for me or co-sign while they were in the middle of buying the house. Now I just have about a week so that i can take out my loans and register for classes. A few months ago my financial advisor at my university gave me a slip of paper that had a website that i could go to that would allow me to take out a loan that would only take a couple of days to process when my parents would be ready to help me with my loans. I unfortunately lost the paper and i really need to take out this loan. Please if anyone knows a good loan that i could take that wouldnt take long let me know because i am freaking out.

The only loans you can take that wont require a cosigner are Federal student loans. Lenders will not make an unsecured loan to a student with no job and no credit history. Those would be awarded to you through the school. They are limited to $5500 a year for freshmen, $6500 for sophomores, $7500 for 3rd year and above.

im sorry i shouldve been more clear. My parents are now ready to take out/co-sign loans for me

Perhaps your school offers a payment plan where you pay a percentage of your costs each month. If so, you could sign up, pay the first installment, and be allowed to register. Or, go back to that financial advisor and ask for the name of the lender, because looking a bit stupid is not as bad as not being able to attend school at all, honest.

Did you fill out a FAFSA for this year? Were the loans approved and just not taken? Go to the financial aid office and ask where you stand. Your parents should qualify for PLUS loans.
