Need Ideas For Where I Can/Should Apply

I'm a tenth grade student incredibly eager for the college application process to be in my control (hence the name). I just want to get an idea on how I am doing for getting into certain schools, and if I could get some other colleges that fit my stats. Given that I haven't taken the SAT, ACT, or any SAT II's; some stats will be projected/expected.

GPA Freshmen (school does it on 4.3 scale, I have converted to 4.0): 3.4
5 Honors classes
[I know the GPA is terrible but I struggled with many family/personal issues throughout the year which I do not wish to detail on this forum but will be explained in my essay]

GPA Soph.: 3.61 (after 3 quarters) {scores projected}
AP Biology- {4}
AP World History- {5}
Algebra 2/Trig Honors
Honors Study of Medicine/CPR

I hope your final GPA will be 3.6+…

Thanks for the feedback, and yes I strongly believe my GPA will be at least 3.64 for my soph. I’ll have to work very hard my junior year, but hey, what’s life without a few challenges. Any other schools that fit my stats (in eastern portion of US)

Notre Dame and UNC Chapel Hill are probably reach schools for you right now, but you can certainly make them if you continue your upward trend and do well on your SATs. It’s good that you’re starting your college search fairly early, just be sure to keep an open mind because it’s too soon to tell what schools would be best for you. Quick (unrelated) question: what did you do to extend your business and finance club? I’m currently a sophomore and I am thinking of establishing an investment club next year and I would want some tips.

Thanks for the feedback! Our SoB club started as just being a “consumer good” type of club, distribution/sale of certain items and marketing them throughout the school. The finance extension was added by introducing a stock investment competition with irrelevant funds (fake money), tracking capital gain over a certain period of time, and winners are rewarded with an award. The debate right now is whether to create an entirely new club or run the financial part as a segment of the current club. Only problem with making the new club is that I’m already a president of two so we would have to find a different president.
