Need ideas of work experience to develop my resume

Hey everybody Im in a unique situation where I need some ideas to help me out. Like the title says, I need ideas of work experience so I can start developing my resume. Here are the pros and cons with this:

cons: Im a disabled veteran (seizures) and have not been in the work force since 2005.
I was a aircraft engine mechanic, which I am not able to do anymore, reason for career change.

pros:I do have a BS in Biomedical Electronics Technology, graduated Oct. 2010. I had a choice of Senior Project or internship, and chose the project. It was a wireless remote mobile robotic arm with a camera, covered aspects of electronics/programming. My proposal was to use in the healcare system either in medical labs, operating rooms, or telemedicine for patients. Looking back I feel like that was a mistake. Only positive thing from that is that I did network a little bit because I did presentations for Seniors, interested in robotics, at two different community colleges.

Looking at the job market I wasnt able to find anything that fit my disablility situation. They were all field tech openings driving to different locations working on medical equipment. I am able to drive, but only from point A to point B (home/school, home/work).

With my first BS I wanted to go into engineering and of course ET does not cover that. Ive had a strong interest in microprocessors/embedded systems, so now Im back in school for a BS in CompE, start Spring 2012, continuing to an MS. Id like to stay in robotics study microprocessors/embedded systems, reason for CompE.

So with my background info. is there anything that I can start doing now to start developing my resume. Should I go back to my first BS and try and find an internship only in hospitals? Even though it wont cover embedded systems I will still work with electronics. Should I find high schools/colleges thats interested in my project presentation. I was thinking for students that are interested in robotics, create/teach an after school shop. Would this be worth putting on a resume? Finally if I just wanted to volunteer somewhere until I was ready to start an internship with my current BS (CompE), would most companies accept that? Im assuming that would be in my Junior year.
Thanks for any feedback.

I would develop my resume around the Boimedical degree and use that. List your project details and presentations under your experience section. Most employers don’t look down on Engineering Technology degrees like everyone seem to think. You just have to be confident in yourself
