Hey all, I'm a high school junior who really needs to gain some leadership in order to get some scholarships. I was thinking about organizing the Day of Silence (where pupils are silent for one whole day to memorialize all those who lost their voice due to their homosexuality) at my school. If I did it this year and the next, would that be considered "leadership?"

Also, what other things can I do to gain more leadership? Thanks! :)

Uh, might be an unrealistic thing, and its not exactly ideal but its unique which may give you points? I would try a more favorable cause, like breast cancer and organize a shirt to wear or something like that.

You might want to organize a sort of tolerance or awareness committee or club that aims to spread awareness of racial, cultural, gender issues etc in the school and community. Schools seem to look for long-term commitments to activities.

How do you lose your voice due to homosexuality? I mean gay people can still speak.

I think there are more worthwhile causes. Start a food drive or something that acutally helps ppl, I mean being silent doesn't do anything. And can a school really make ppl be quite for an entire day? I would be mad if someone told me that I couldn't talk.
