Need opinions: WUSTL vs Northwestern

So basically, my college decision has boiled down to these two colleges, and I honestly cannot make a decision. I need some opinions on the matter.
Here's some information about me:
-From Chicago area
-Going into engineering (most likely BME)
-Want to pursue a minor in humanities (probably history)
-Quirky, band-geek type
-I expect to pay roughly the same amount at both schools

Help?!

Aren’t both the same ? There is no way to differentiate between them. You could go on a visit. Since you are from IL go with Northwestern.

Forbes ranking ranks Northwestern 22 whereas Washington 71. No idea why

Both are great. Northwestern is more artsy. WashU is known to be laid back and has a beautiful campus. My students have loved both.

What criteria are you using to make your choice?

NU engineering is more design-oriented and has one of the most established co-op programs in the country. Anything biomedical-related is a particular strength of WashU but NU’s biomedical engineering is pretty good; their website says over 70% of their undergrads participate in research.

NU has one of the top history programs in the country. WashU is known for having one of the best dorms/dorm food. But off-campus, Evanston/Chicago have better dining scene.

One has Big Ten sports and one has almost no athletic scene. If that matters to you…
