Knowledge Bowl President placed 3rd in state
Volunteer at Swedish Hospital on PCU floor for a year
Tutor at my school for struggling students for past year
Played Piano recreationally (no amazing awards) for 8 years, I just play for fun

Overall, around 400 hours of community service from teaching Aikido, tutoring, volunteering at the hospital, etc.

my recommendation letters are both solid 8.5/10. I submitted a supplemental from my Aikido teacher and that one will be fantastic easy 10/10.

I am also doing a research project on cryptography under a mathematics professor who got his B.A. from UPenn and a PhD at University of Washington. It is very intensive and I mentioned it in my Wharton supplemental essay. I think both of my essays are somewhere between good and excellent. I talked about my transformation from when I first started Aikido when I was in 1st grade to how I teach now.

For some context, I've already applied to Wharton ED, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and University of Washington Honors (my home state school)

I am planning on majoring in Business or Computer Science. Possibly both.

I am looking for recommendations for schools that you think match my application's caliber as well as my interests in business and computer science. Please state how you feel my chances would be for each respective school you recommend. Thank you.

I appreciate all input, please provide a link to your respective thread if you would like me to chance you back! :)

berkeley match
ucla low match
washington safety
wharton reach

consider carnegie mellon for computer science? that might be a low reach

thank you @sparkl3‌! Just for some more context these are the schools I haven’t applied to yet but I am planning on:

Harvard (I want to just try haha)
Brown
University of Michigan (their business program)
Wash U (I think this is a perfect fit for me in terms of the fact that I feel I have a good chance of admissions, and the school provides the majors and environment I am interested in.
SMU (safety, I have legacy here, and I feel that I will most likely get a full scholarship. They have a decent business program)

Any other suggestions, or how you feel about any of the schools I am applying to would be fantastic!

Harvard and Wharton are reaches, however, you have fairly good chances. Your stats are very good as are your ECs. Make sure your essays are good. Rest of your schools are matches/safeties, IMO. Good Luck!

@ShaneBlakeEy‌ Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. Do you have any recommendations for a school that I haven’t listed that you think might fit me?

And yeah… Harvard is probably not going to happen considering I would apply RD but I want to try just because it was always what I imagined as a child. The picturesque college dream haha.

December 15th… coming so soon. I really hope I get into Wharton. If anyone would like me to chance them back I would be happy to do so! please provide a link, and I will respond asap.

Your list is pretty good. You might want to consider UIUC or Gtech as safeties for comp sci. But you seem to have a good balance of schools.

I think I will apply to Georgia Tech. I’ve considered it before. Thank you for your input @ShaneBlakeEy‌! Good luck to you on your process! I took a look at your threads, good luck on Columbia! It’s a fantastic school, one of my friends goes there.

Thanks mate, you too!
