Need safety under Stanford

Ok, as everyone knows, Stanford is a crazy hard reach, and that's also my first choice school. Now I'm looking for a match/safety that has the same general kind of environment. I'm undecided, but my major might be somewhere along the lines of engineering (industrial).. Stats aside (grades/test scores/ECs shouldn't be a problem anywhere except the very top) where should I be looking for matches/safeties.

Someone has suggested Berkeley as a possible match. I also live in Washington, so University of Washington could probably be a safety, but it's huge and I don't really like it. Looking for a smaller private school setting.. (well at least not 40k students!)

bump
i want to know,too

bump (10 char)

nobody knows?

are you a girl? if so, wellesley is something to investigate.
hm...engineering....try purdue, carnegie mellon, cornell, etc. those aren't really safeties, of course. cornell and probably CMU are reach/matches. purdue is kind of a safety.

Well if you meant campus environment, after living at Stanford, I'd say you'd might like:

Rice University
Tulane
Pomona
Cornell
USC
WUSTL
Boston College
University of Arizona

Now, it's hard to translate Stanford's campus environment + academics standards to many match schools, nevermind safeties. None of those above is safety/match except Arizona. I'll think on it...

I've looked into Rice and I hear it's beautiful.. Cornell as a match/safety is uh.. really stretching it... I'm not sure I've seen the campus either

No I'm not a girl but thanks for the suggestion.. I'm sure it'll help someone..

No, the only match/safety on that list above is Arizona.
