Need SERIOUS advice on prepping for Writing

I'm aiming for 700 in each section. I'm good for Math; as for CR, I can do the passages quite well now, but I have almost 1000 words to memorize between now and January 26th. I told myself that I would do writing in the last 2-3 weeks before the SAT, but I want to spend more time knowing all these words because not only must I try and get the Hard Sentence Completions right, but I can't answer the passage questions efficiently if I don't know the vocab in the questions/answers.

I've read many rules for Writing, and I see many resources: Sparknotes, Barron's, Kaplan, etc. I could spend my entire weekend just taking practice tests and familiarizing myself with the types of problems(they can't make unlimited problems, they HAVE to reuse the same grammar errors each test), but then I wouldn't have as much time to memorize words. Colleges don't look at the writing section as seriously as Math and CR, but what's the absolute best way to prepare for writing? Practice tests, or is there a book that basically explains all the types of errors? What do I have to memorize for Writing? I want to get it over with quickly because I really need to focus on CR.

It shouldn't take that long to improve your writing score. What helped me a LOT was Barron's how to prepare for the new sat. Read up on the writing section. it has a whole list of all the grammar tested and example sentences, the whole nine yards. read up on that first. then just take practice test, preferably the Blue book. check all your answers that you got wrong and why u got them wrong.

if ur still having trouble, try to make flashcards for each type of grammar error and memorize those so they can help u during the test. If u can master the MC, then the essay can be mediocre and you will still get an 800. try this site as well on sparknotes SAT: Improve SAT Score with SparkNotes: The Seven Deadly Screw-Ups free and detailed

if u think u cant memorize the 1000 vocab words, i can suggest the 250 word list by sparknotes, thats what im doing. google it.

this thread will also help u

by the way thanks for replying to my threads recently

While this is not a section that I seriously need to focus on, I nevertheless want to get at least a 700 to make it look good in general because a score lower than a 700 looks bad even for writing. I'll take a Blue Book practice test to see how I do, but I want answer explanations, and books like Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Barron's offer those, but they don't have the true ETS tests.
