Need Some Advice on Finance Programs/Career Goals

Hey All,

I recently graduated from a great state school, but like most others, I'm having a hard time finding a good job. I graduated with a degree in marketing, however, I would really like to work in the financial industry. Although, having a degree in marketing has made it very tough to find any kind of entry-level finance position.

My choices are the following (please give input if you have another suggestion)
1. Keep looking for a job with my current degree
2. Go for another undergraduate degree and major in finance
3. Apply for a MFin program--The only problem I have with this is possibly getting left behind in class since I've only taken one finance class in undergrad. Are there any MFin programs that provide intro courses to get me caught up?
4. Find some kind of work and just do a concentration in finance for my MBA?

I'm having a very difficult time trying to figure out which path to take. I'm 23 years old with very high aspirations and ready to start my career. I would greatly appreciate any help/suggestions/insight. Thanks

Finance called the science of money and career in finance can be very exciting. I think you can keep looking for a job with your current degree, but try in financial sector. Submit your resume in financial job portals. You can also contact finance professional and request him to give you part-time training, this will help you learn a lot. Also, try to get enroll in financial certification courses.

If I work at a place that isn’t necessarily finance related and do my concentration in finance for my MBA, would I be able to get on with some type of investment banking/PE/hedge fund firm? I’ve heard that it can be hard to switch to a different business field if your prior work experience wasn’t closely related.
