i'll start with the basics, CR:680 Math:600 Writing:670 overall: 1950 CR+M=1280
unweighted GPA= 3.54 weighted..not sure, my school doesn't weight, but out the the 8 classes i'm taking this semester, 2 are AP's and three are honors. last year i was in 3 honors and 1 AP.
librarian of Model UN, editor of school's literary magazine, co-president of Art Club
volunteer at religious school
volunteer and work with horses, rescued a horse from slaughter over the summer
also have a job assisting a kid's art class every week

basically, right now i'm stuck looking at school that i've been looking at the past few years that i've just assumed i would like. sure, i've visited them but i'm not so positive how much i like them anymore (american university, for example) also, skidmore. i'm thinking of applying to mcgill and vassar, but they'd be reaches, as would wash. u of st. louis and wesleyan. also, colorado college is a top choice but i've never been there to visit. parents said no to whitman and evergreen state because of the distance.

can anyone tell me of school that would be targets for someone who is not a typical preppy highschool student...i'm looking for a "hippy-esque" school but i'm not so into the drug/party scene...i don't know my political stance, i assume i'm liberal just like everyone else, i like art and music, i'm open-minded and i like to have a good time, i just know i don't want to be surrounded by frat-houses and the plastic preppy girls i've been surrounded with all my life!

female, definitely looking for co-ed
also looking at kenyon, and oberlin, but unsure of my chances because haven’t been able to visit and show interest

Definitely check out William & Mary if you’re looking to go a little South (just to Virginia). Frats and sororities exist, but are not a domineering presence. The school is described as quirky and has a large environmental presence. Wake Forrest may be another option.

Well, a southern university is out of the question, so nix Wake and W&M.

I assume by “plastic” you mean silicone (breasts, lip injections), and the fixed expressionless look caused by botox injections in the forehead?

It never ceases to amaze me what otherwise rational people will to do their bodies to attract suitable mates.

Also check out the seven sister colleges. All are great schools (some very tough to get into) and all are focused on intellectual women from good families.

Wow, a bit judgmental maybe? You may be able to say that about UVA and Emory, but not W&M and WF, and certainly not ALL the schools in an entire region.

Check out Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. Probably the most hippy-esque school south of the Mason-Dixon and Asheville is a very cool, artsy small city.

Just to be clear UNC-Asheville and Warren Wilson are separate schools although they are both worth looking at. UNC-A is a public university and WWC is a private LAC.

Check out Marlboro in Vermont. Daughter loved it, but ended up at Skidmore. Also agree with Hampshire and Smith. Don’t write off Smith until you visit (it’s in a great college town- guarantee there are plenty of Y chromosomes around).
