I am from CO, and I was going to apply the Colorado School of Mines, but I got this email which got me thinking that I had 1 less application to do...
I became suspicious though, and was wondering if anybody has any take on this to see if it's even legit? I mean...10 day notice of acceptance? BS

I received your information from a previous contact with you. Please let me know if you do not wish to be contacted via email.

This is actually a pretty common way for colleges to try to boost their application numbers. DD has received similar emails from 2 other schools. Once you logged on, you discovered that it's a fairly complete, normal application except for the lack of an essay.

That's pretty common, and essayless applications are also pretty common. CSM sent me the same thing when I was applying (or something similar.) They've always got cute girls on their brochures, which is interesting since there are about 3 girls on campus there.

Yep...real stuff. I got several free applications like that (maybe even one from them...don't remember, it's been a few years) and even applied to one of the schools.
