Duke or NYU Stern Scholars.... (interested in finance)

tough tough choice. NYU is #2 in the nation in finance but it has absolutely no campus and really doesnt have the true college feel to it.

I honestly think that a Stern degree will be respected as much as a Duke econ degree. That being said, I would go to Duke due to the extras.

u think Duke will have the same amoutn of opportunites nyu has?

Duke (ten chr)

intresting. I thought thered be lot more peolpe saying stern. Ive actually heard Duke being well known for its feeders into med school and its great engineering school...... i did not know it was a good precursor to business.

well considering location, i doubt duke could offer the same amount of internships.

i'd go with Stern as long as you don't mind not having a campus.

go with nyu...unless you have a very strong preference for duke instead

From the education aspect, the internship opportuniteis, and the job placement out of school, which school would be better. I have acceptated that Duke will have a better campus life, and that its name is GREAT. I have also heard Stern is a great name in the financial world.

How sure about going into finance? If 100% sure then definitely go to Stern. But even if you have slight reservations, Duke would provide you with more options.

i know i want to go into business. if not finance accounting or management or even international.

New York logically provides wonderful options for finance, and the school has other good programs if you change your mind

does duke provide many opportunities for finance?

Duke! Fo sho.

Duke isn't perfect for everyone, but I think it's a better choice than NYU. The academics and professors are better, and there is very good preparation for business careers. Besides the economics major, there is a certificate program in markets and management, which is very popular for people interested in business.
