Need to wait for recs before hitting submit?

Commom App newbie question:

My D is waiting on one teacher to submit a rec on Common App.
She has the rest of her application ready to go. Does she need to wait until the rec is there before she hits submit on that app?

(For this particular school, the rec in question is not required. So if my D does submit the app, and then the rec comes in later, does the school still get the rec?)

No. And in most cases, the app is sent first. But from the college PoV, they don’t care what comes first. Ditto with SAT/ACT scores, if the score report is required.

My kids’ school doesn’t send the recs or transcript until you let them know you submitted your application.
