Neither of my teachers have sent their letters of recommendation and the deadlines are 4 days away

When I asked two teachers for recommendations last year, they agreed and seemed happy to write one. I asked my chem teacher and my AP US history teacher, even though neither of them know me very well. (Now I am really regretting not asking my AP English teacher from last year because even though she didn’t like me that much, I participated a lot and set myself apart from other students.) I last spoke to each teacher several weeks ago, handing in a form for recommendations. I did this late compared to other students I have talked to, but my history teacher told me he was just about to start writing them all. My chem teacher initially rejected the form, then took it and thanked me because “it would serve as a reminder” to start writing.

I asked my guidance counselor if I should remind them and she told me it probably didn’t matter as long as I had filled out everything I needed to.

I have no idea if they’ve started writing the letter or not.

I am taking a class this year with my history teacher, but I do not have any classes with my chem teacher.

I would take advice on exactly how I could politely phrase a reminder. At this point if I reminded them it would have to be by email. Mainly I’m looking for reassurance from anonymous strangers on the internet that I will be fine.

If the schools you are applying to require letters of recommendations, I think it matters. That being said, some schools will give an applicant 1-2 weeks to get supplemental materials in. Others have no grace period and will move the applicant to the regular decision pile.

i would email. Let them know you’ve submitted your application to school xyz. Thank them for agreeing to write your letter, remind them your target school has a November 1 deadline, and include you are available to provide any additional information they may need.
