how much will my low writing score affect my admission?
i am from nepal so will being from a third world country help me get in?
plz help

I think you have a good shot, try to boost the writing over 600 though. Studying will really help this, I improved from a 640 to 740 by studying. They will give you some credit on the writing for being an international and since you have a strong verbal SAT

The reality is that your competition is going to be tough as there is always a large number of international applicants for a few spots in addition to the school not being need blind to internationals. Some one who is bringing the same stats that you have to the table and can pay may knowck you out of the box. This years class has only 2 students from Nepal.

Anyway , you have to toss your hat in to be in the game. All the best

Hey sybbie719,

Do you hav any idea on how many students are there from India in this years class?
BTW,do u think I will recieve xtra credit for getting 770 in V and 800 writing?

Reading directly from the Class of 2008 Green Book, I can tell you that there is exactly one person from India in this year's class.

I guess Dartmouth is really thifty with their aid for international students?

I don't think it is matter of being thrifty, but a matter of too many applications for too few spots. Is there a limited amount of finiancial aid to International students- yes. So if there are 2 canidates with similar stats the one who ca pay or needs the lesser amount of aid will e at an advantage.
