"how is literature?"

i took literature with like 2 days of practice at USEF and still ended up with a decent 680. if u've taken any lit class before and have good english, it shouldn't be too difficult.

and hey BackInBlue!!

lol, go and check out CC's SAT preparation Threads and scold ppl there.

whoa i gotta say this is amazing finding a nepal thread on this website. i see ppl talking about how they went to BNKS RBS and SXC and that seems so cool to me cuz i live in america now and the fact that there are so many ppl talking about back home is awesome. RBS is like right behind where i lived in patan dhoka, my dad went to BNKS , the first class ever as a matter of fact, and i have so many cousins that went/go to SXC. well anyway, about the college stuff now. honestly does the fact that one puts that they are citizens of/from nepal really help in the decisions processs? becuz i know that many colleges try to "diversify" their campuses by accepting people from not-so-well known nations but how much do they really focus on that? are we given a bit more special treatment just like the legecy students and and the other minority applicants?

it may help a little... but u'll still be competing with a very strong pool of international students.. specially those europeans.. crazy are those... colleges definitely dont have a quota kind of thing for less known countries and stuff like that...hope that helped

oof i was hoping they did something like that. i applied to colleges that i knew i'd get into for my major (biomedical engineering) but i tried upenn and hopkins for the heck of it cuz my grades are pretty solid and my ECs are alright. the thing is though i really didnt have much that set me apart from the part of the applicant pool that was like me except for the fact that i was a nepali citizen. i thought that being from a 3rd world country would put me under something along the lines of affirmative action but idk... its all so confusing...

oh and btw im not an international student i have my greencard so im excluded from the other int. applicants but am included under the US minorities (i certainly hope =/)

I dont wanna scare you but Asian Americans is not a applicant pool you'd want to be in, mate.

i guess youre right since they seem to recieve anti-afiirmative action but we here arent the traditional indian/chinese/japanese/korean etc... asains we are (in the eyes of the american admissions counselors) underprivaleged 3rd world country nepalese asains haha

yeah.. seems everyone is busy with their application stuffs n all..
so, anyone, giving their sat in nov?? how is ur preparation goin on??

if we send our application by regular mail, by when should we post it so that it can get there on time?? (i'm thinkin of registered mail though)

you can send it on the deadline. but there are a few colleges that will ask the application be sent before a certain date, like berea college.

is the thread dead, dying or dormant?

certainly not dead. May be because ppl are posting on the other thread started by Shail
