Nerve-wrecking...

Okay, I know this thread is redundant; with all the droves of "chance-me" and "what's-taking-so-long" threads. But I have say it out. UCI, UCSC, UCSD, UCD, UCSB - ALL STILL FREAKING PENDING and it's already knee-deep into April. Seriously. What. Is. The. Hold-up.

Rolling admissions, just be patient.

My friend is in the same boat as you! He is getting really irritated…He applied to UCSB, and UCD (but not the others you applied to), and they are all still pending.

If you are curious, his application has no extracurriculars, and 3.4 Geology major.

I think that it’s ok that they are taking this long at this point because I feel that people who are rejected would have gotten those letters by now…so they’re hopefully all still coincidentally reviewing your application.

Excluding Cal and UCLA. UCs generally have very high rates of acceptances when it comes to transfer students. Any CCC student with at least a 3.0 GPA can get into a UC ( without TAG ).

I am still pending with UCD, and just got UCSD yesterday. I feel ya. I was getting pretty irritated and paranoid, but once you know that you have somewhere to go the anticipation decreases quite a bit. My current theory on UCD is that they will post more admissions next week because their first two batches came out on the 11th and the 25th which was exactly two weeks apart, so I’m guessing the 8th.

Don’t sweat it though. There are a ton of people with great stats still waiting, so I’m sure there are still a ton of admits left to come.

hell, what about university california of merced making me think I got rejected to one of the newest institutions. I got acepted to both ucsd and ucsb but what the hell is wrong with merced???

nijikon, actually there’s this guy on a thread this week that said he got rejected with a 3.7 to UCSC. He is so pist AND he finished prereqs and IGETC. I think the admission people were on drugs when they rejected that guy from the thread.

Gah I’m still pending for ucsd, ucd, uci and ucsb. Its really frustrating not hearing from anyone yet. I’m probably going to be stressing out for all of spring break.

cheeser:

loller on the forum got rejected from SDSU. However, he has been accepted to UCI and UCSD. Don’t worry about random rejections, all that matters is you get accepted to some of your other choices. I’m actually not as stressed about UCLA and Cal anymore. It would hurt not to get into them but UCSD and UCI are great schools also.

it’s ‘nerve racking’.

rofl pinker.

I said the same thing to myself yesterday when I saw the thread title. “Isn’t it nerve racking? Guess it’s nerve wrecking shrug”

“it’s ‘nerve racking’.”

Perhaps in the case of the OP, the nerves are wrecked.

I wonder how many more threads are going to be made like this…

I wouldn’t be surprised if I come up with one…

nijikon you have been helping out so much and thanks once again! when did you stop getting stressed for ucla and cal? I would say that as long as a given person like ourselves for example, keep on striving for a better tomorrow and not quitting, we are already winners. The important thing is to feel proud and make our present and future generation very happy. we are not drop outs and this is what it’s all about. imagine all those people who are in drugs, don’t have a life, or who hate school they are not productive in society. whereever we end up going we are 1 more step away from more and more success. I think that commitment and determination, hapiness most of all is key to entering a career and hitting the job market. Yes, recognition is nice and important, but I believe that getting a university degree anywhere is worth it in the long run. Besides, almost all the UC’s like ucsd, ucsb, and uci, are in the top 100 in the world and top 50 in the U.S so that’s pretty good. I saw someone post on my thread the one that talked about “which global studies program is better if ucla or ucsb honors” and that person said that getting a degree in ucsb doesn’t get you a good job whereas only ucla does. I would say maybe ucla gives out more fame, but firms, gov’t agencies, medical facilities, and all the job places, they know that a person is worth mentioning with a degree regardless which UC what do you think about this?

yeah… my friend graduated from UCSB last year with a degree in global studies…

he now works at trader joe’s.

nerve-wracking = extremely trying on the nerves <a nerve–wracking=“” ordeal=“”>
<a nerve–wracking=“” ordeal=“”>

edit: OK it can be either racking or wracking!

i think this has been covered…
