Distinctive Research:

i say your stats are pretty awesome..especially your EC's

I think that 790CR, strong rank and experience at Target will serve you well. Great chance.

^^^I actually think my rank is kind of low. So many ppl are like 1 or 2 but bc of my ECs that don't count as honors or AP classes I am not even in the top 10.

You are a URM who works 30 hrs/wk. Your rank is fine.

I only work during the summer. Also i don't think that being a minority provides as big a boost as ppl think, look at the Yale EA results.

you're in. and the URM does help. ignore the EA results--this year early admissions were screwed up, probably b/c colleges don't know what's ahead in the regular pool.

Being a URM is not a free pass, but a 790CR is an incredible score for anyone. There are tons of 800M, but the very high CR is much more rare and a strong indication that you will do well at any college. 75% of URMs are rejected at ivies, so you're right in what you report. I think you'll get in but that's just one opinion.

a FIVE point five-four!?

At our school we have six point scale but the highest is like a 5.73

i think with ur ec and research u are a shoo in at all these schools,
(and minority status does help some considering that 25% of us get into ivies and around 6-13% of all applicants get accepted, but yes it still isnt a total boost)

I think you stand a pretty good chance. The reading I've done about Harvard indicates they look for "energy, ambition, & the capacity to make the most of opportunities" Hopefully your essays highlighted these type of attributes. My son also applied to Harvard so we have read up on the college.
Good Luck.

UT for sure. HYP being the crapshoots that they are, I think a winter coat would still be a great investment for next year in the freezing northeast

rank/gpa is good. and obviously a tough schedule. how good is your high school?

maybe send just the ACT since its so much higher?

also, VERY impressive science awards.

for speech/debate awards, i would only put MOST significant awards. i do speech/debate (policy, congress, extemp) to and some of the stuff you listed detracts from your resume (IMO). dont list state qualifier because its not that hard to do. ..just list acheivement at state, if you had an individual one. listing indiv. awards in debate is much more impressive. (thats what i did anyway, you might diagree).

good chance at all, esp. since your a URM.

u cud easily get into all, specially UT

I am hoping that I can show drive and curiousity bc I did all the stuff myself. I taught myself, worked to get money for the stuff, and had to register and drive myself to the competitions bc no one else at our school does science research (my teachers did not even know how to register for it).

I sent in my paper on photon tunneling to Yale (16 pages), but only my research description to harvard and Princeton.

high school quantum physics research....

They're ALL crazy if they don't take you (though you're already in at UT through top 10% guaranteed admission, no?)

You impress me, for sure. And that's a difficult task to accomplish.

Great ACT, good SAT. Bleh SAT IIs, but the rest makes up for it.
Athlete prior to stopping for a medical reason.
Musician.
Speaker.
Science research (and very complex subjects as well) in high school.
11 APs
Holding a job in the off season, rather than slacking

Unfortunately, admissions at all of these schools are unpredictable (UT isn't in this picture, obviously), but I'd give you good chances and pretty sure you'll get at least one of 'em.

You're in.

You're amazing. I could never compete with that! I'd say you have a great chance compared to a lot of others. But all Ivies are hard to get in to. Keep on hoping for the best! I think you'll get in.
