thanks

beat someone up the first day or get used to saying the word "bubba"

Get drunk. Some kid during my orientation got so mashed he had to be taken to the hospital and get treated for alcohol poisoning. Keep in mind, my orientation started at 10:30AM.

I had no idea that Hell was nervous.

Loosen up kid..its college and every1 is there to meet new people...go there and have fun even though the orientation speeches and whatnot are usually boring, you can have fun w/ the people you meet. Introduce yourself to people and startup convos..not hard dude

Orientation is such a blast. Then it gets to a point, where the f*&$% am I? If you are really stuck and nervous, then check out the "Christian" bar-b-ques. Especially, if they are playing volleyball.

Remember, to keep smiling, all the freshman and new transfers have this "weird" look on their face.

jlazz I think you missed me.. I'm not SCARED. I'm not afraid that I cant make friends, I'm just a little nervous that I'm leaving home and stuff... relax guy.

meet people, as many as you can. talk, hang out, make sure to fill out applicable paperwork, meet more people. thats what im planning to do when i get to school in 3 days.

You'll be fine. Everyone is nervous. You were probably worried about being in a new place and starting over when you started high school, but you got through that. I know that it's not the same thing, but the anxiety is similar. Just roll with it.

I'm scared as hell and I don't even move in for another 5 days. Ugh. I'm seriously scared to death that no one is going to like me, I'll not like my roommate, or something like that. Ahhh I don't know why. I'm usually really really confident about everything, but for some reason.

just get drunk and it'll be all good.

I'm excited...very excited. I am a little sad to be leaving my friends, but I will see them again in a few months.

Try to drop the pessimistic mindset GlitterHairDye...you're shooting yourself down before you've even met anyone.

actually otacon, get drunk nd nothing will be as bad.... ;)

edit: i misread ur message, i thought u wrote just dont get drunk.

or just get social ski....

who am i kiddin, cheers!

I'm leaving in 6 days and I'm nervous too but I'm taking it in stride... I'll be seeing my family soon enough, I like my roommate, and everyone else is in the same boat I am... away from home! I have tons and tons of pictures to put on my walls and I have a cell phone and a laptop with AIM if I get homesick.

LOL mine's on wednesday.. i just hope i won't leave anything behind

Eh, if you've made a list and planned well, it will be something small. You'll buy it when you get there. I can't wait to go, but it's not until the 26th. It'll be a long 11 days.

I leave on Sunday for orientation and sure I'm a little nervous, but the way I figure it is everyone's inthe same boat and if I really hate it, I could always leave after first semester. But by the time first semester is over, going to classes nad hanging out with friends will be so routine that even if it was terrible and hard at the beginning I won't notice it as much by December and I'll deal with it.
