Nervous but excited!

That about sums up my feelings as I drive to the Post Office to mail the enrollment contract to school! Can't believe this part of the journey is over. Seems like ages ago since we started the process. The re-visit was well worth attending, and we met some very nice incoming parents (and kids). All I can say at this point is: Whew. Well, actually I can also say "Thank You" to all of my fellow CCers for all the information, support and handholding!

@london – I feel exactly the same way! It was a crazy, stressful process, we looked at a lot of schools, and ultimately found the perfect fit (just as everyone on CC assured us we would!). My d and I learned so much about ourselves and each other during the application process. That in itself was so valuable. Now, it seems like a long stretch between revisit and September. But I am going to make a point of enjoying every second of time I have with her before she goes off to school. My only regret is that I didn’t find CC way back in the very early stages when we were first making our lists of possible schools. It’s such a great resource, and everyone is so supportive. Best wishes to you and yours!

Nervous, excited, proud, worried . . . . I’m in the same boat. Still can barely believe that d has led us on this long and strenuous journey of researching, visiting, interviewing, applying – and that now she’ll actually be going away to school! I’m completely new to CC and also I’d found CC earlier, but, I’m pretty sure we’ll have a lot of questions this summer (roommate questions, what to bring to school questions, how often to call/skype/text questions . . . .) And yes, I’m planning on a summer of appreciating the time we’ve got with d!

Now, in the lull, is a great time to read “back issues” in the CC archives. You will most likely find that all of your questions have been asked and answered many times and in great detail by those who’ve gone before. Should you find that you actually do have a question that has never been asked before, by all means, bring it up. Also, reviving old (even very old) threads to add your twist is better than starting a new thread. Enjoy the time you have left; it goes by so quickly!

Congratulations to everyone starting this new journey! By this time next year, you will be seasoned boarding school veterans and looking at the new admits at revisit days with nostalgia, remembering when you, too, were brand new to the school.

@london203- Congratulations!!
