Post here if you have nothing better to do than to visit the williams board looking for new topics to talk in since youve got a lot of nevous energy awaiting the rd decision and you really want to go to williams and hope you are good enough

not that im like this or anything, just trying to help everyone else out :)

I know what you guys are going through, though luckily I'm done with that. (applied ED and got in) As you may have seen in some of the earlier posts, a bunch of us ED'ers threw some of our nervous energy into the forums. It is kind of nice to talk with people you can relate to. At my school, no one knew where Williams was or what kind of school it was. So I relied on CC to talk out my nerves... :) Anyway, I just wanted to wish you guys the best of luck.

April does seem a long ways off. Oh but it will be here before we know it. Take care.

LOL same here Leonesa... My teachers don't know where Williams is, and some of them think it's very bad college (Worse than UTA). However, coming here talking about this great college makes me forget everything about it. I just look so much forward to attending it!!

Oh yeah, I totally feel you guys! None of my teachers know where it is and all of my friends think it's some really terrible school. They're always like, "Well, if you were applying to MacAllister or Carleton I'd be scared... but Middlebury or Williams? Whatever you'll get in no problem."

And I'm like "............." No one knows that Williams is the BEST LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE IN THE NATION??!?!?!??!! I mean not that Carleton or MacAllister are easy to get into (and they're not by ANY means) it's just that everyone here has a sort of Midwestern snobbery. Don't know anything about east coast schools. Baaah.

Seriously, though. CC is the best for kids who don't have anyone who can relate to them!! :-P

hehe, I agree with all three of you (Leo, Hope, Linana). The student body was oblivious to Williams; none of them knew that it existed until I got in. However, the teachers seemed to know Williams. I found that weird since none of your teachers knew, but then again my teachers are not your "typical" teachers--at least at a subpar suburban high school. (one of my teachers went to Rice with a masters/phd? at UCLA, another went to Harvard and got a masters at Oxford, another at Claremont Mckenna, and two teachers (now retired) went to Williams)

As EDers we feel your anxiety speed, cools and liana. I wish you all the best of luck. Hopefully by the time April comes around you will all be pleasantly surprised with the letters you get. Besides, anyone who even considers Williams undoubtedly has several other schools coveting them. Once again, good luck! =)

funny episode. BTW, she's my Favorite Teacher!!! She wrote me such a beautiful recommendation =).

me: Sorry Ms.XXX, but I can't take AP English exam.
Ms. X: why? you will do so well on it!
me: but my college won't accept AP english credit.
Ms. X: That is ridiculous. I am telling you it's a revenue issue. Some private colleges are out to get your money.
me:..... (just nodded head in respect)

hahaha.. i just thought it was hilarious, but I couldn't laugh out loud. ;)

I definitely do, even though I EDed to Middlebury. I love Middlebury so much and I would DIE to go there, but when it comes down to it, and if by some incredible miracle I get accepted to both, then I would choose Williams over Middlebury. I EDed to Midd mostly because Williams was such a reach for me that it was impossible to even think of EDing there. :-P

lol liana... theres not much diff between williams and middlebury. Plus ED at Middlebury doesnt increase your chances. But it's great that Williams is ur first choice! Maybe I'll see you there!

zuma - oops sorry yeah I totally spelled Macalester wrong. I realized that after I posted. OOPS.

albywalby - haha yeah you're totally right now that I think about it in retrospect. For some weird reason though I always felt like Williams was "the HUGE reach" or whatever. Maybe because my dad is psycho... hehe. Definitely got deferred from Midd though. So we'll see. :)

I feel the same exact way about Williams...I have a countdown posted in my room logging the days until April 1. It's an ideal college and I cannot wait to get there! Be optimistic, but I guess we cannot wish away the remainder of our high school lives.
