Nervous Yet?

I'm getting pretty nervous as well. To be honest, I'm not really expecting fireworks on my screen. I've got a 3.93 UW GPA, Honors classes 9-11 and 4 AP's 12th, 1220 SAT (600 R, 620 M). I know my SAT is on the low side for EA, and I regret not taking any AP's before senior year. Do they look at senior year courses for EA? I don't remember. If I have have to apply for RD, I'm not too worried about the essays. If this happens, I think I have an OK shot. My extra-curric's are decent... Beta club, Spanish honor society, academic team, gov's honors nominee, perfect attendance, Who's Who...

Good luck to everyone! Only five days to D-Day!

By the way, I am a white male, and I live in GA. My class rank at the end of last year was 39/459 which puts me in top 10%. I expect that number to stay pretty solid. It all just depends on how the other kids do this year.

Again, good luck.

Sorry, miscalculated my GPA. My UW is actually 3.75 and W is 3.85. That's counting 9th-11th grades only... which is what UGA is seeing so far.

Your AP's might push you into EA...my son got it w/ only 2.

The Status Check website will be be closed until Friday, December 14th, at 4:30pm EST, at which time Early Action decisions will be released. Thank you for your patience.

I forgot they did that last year, too.

Next UGA Chat: *The next event is the Newly Admitted Student and Parent Chat , on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 from 3:00PM- 5:00PM ET *

So does this mean we're finding out on Friday rather than Saturday? That'd be awesome.

i guess so ...

Yes, that does mean we will find out our EA decision on Friday, online only though! Prospective students should get the mail from UGA on Saturday or the upcoming week following that Saturday. Again, good luck to everyone!

Less than 24 hours!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!
Good Luck everyone - hope to read lots of good news here soon...
:)
Remember Hakuna Mantata (sp?)!!! :)

the majority of us will be deferred...EA is ridiculous...for some reason they only take la creme de la creme EA and then pretty much everyone RD

SAT696969, for what reason did you say so? UGA is not that prestigious, it shouldn't make itself seemingly as tough as Emory.

well if you're in state then you already know why, and correct me if i'm wrong but....

a ton of good students from GA apply there EA because 1) it's an extremely quick and easy app...no essay, no listed EC's...strictly numbers and it takes 2 seconds to fill out..and 2) free tuition due to HOPE scholarship. this has made the school much more difficult to get into than it used to be. going to a great school for next to nothing...can't beat that. because of this competition, EA is extremely tough to get into.

but i'm no expert and a renowned pessimist so don't let me get you down. best of luck to all.

I guess you're right about this. Do you know how many kids they take for early action?

Good Luck to all EA's tommorrow! DD said it's been all the talk this week at her school. Her school sent 91 to UGA total last year, and, unconfirmed through the rumor mill, anything above a 1300 or 31, and a 3.8 or above, got in EA.

That's what I've heard, too...;unfortunately, son has 1290! Looks like he'll be writing essays!

I know someone who got in with a 1260, but her GPA was really good... something like 4.0 UW and 4.5 W. Good luck!

tink tock - tick tock...

Actually I don't think my D remembers that today is the day and she has a big athletic competition this weekend. Maybe I'll just wait until Sunday to remind her to check...

Is that bad of me in case she is defered(which is likely)?
