<p>I just signed up for Netflix, im on a 2week free trial.(no credit card required) My mother thinks this would be great for me while im in college... Does anybody have a netflix account? Ive watched a few movies already</p>

<p>I’ve had mine for a decent amount of time now. It’s pretty good, I mean, the <em>REALLY</em> good movies to watch are few and far between as far as instant stream movies go. But I love the fact for instance, that you can watch every single episode of The Office through streaming. Or every episode of 30 Rock. That’s what won me over. Plus, you can still order a DVD to be mailed every month too. It’s worth it, especially for college.</p>
<p>Every month? Uh you can order as many as you want as long as you have a quick turnaround time. Watch the film the day you get it, put it into the mail the same or next day. You could easily burn through a few discs each month at least.</p>
<p>I have netflix. I have the $10 one at a time unlimited plan, and have had my account for several years now. I have no intention of ever canceling my subscription. If nothing else, it is nice to have a reason to check the mail! And it’s much more convenient than going to the video store. I use the instant watch feature a lot, too, that is unlimited as well in my plan. I suppose for people who download movies anyway there’s no use for it, but I don’t like to do that so netflix is perfect.</p>
<p>I could easily go through two movies a week given how fast I get new movies, maybe even three. But for me the nearest distribution center is 30 minutes away, so they don’t have far to go.</p>
<p>Yea i have an XBOX 360, but i dont have live right now. Im waiting til August to go and get a 1 year card. I figure i can use my 360 and watch movies on the tv at night…</p>

<p>Yes I’ve had netflix for a while now, I usually just watch a lot of watch instantly shows, like dexter and the office, it is well worth the money.</p>
<p>Idk, I don’t have Netflix, but I think it’s pretty pointless to sign up for it if you’re not going to get it mailed. You can just google and watch most movies online for free–even newer ones, about 2+ weeks old.</p>

<p>I’ve found my subscription worthwhile. Instant demand has a good selection of movies and TV shows with which to take up my free time. And sometimes, Netflix one-ups Hulu on availability of TV show episodes.</p>
<p>Like others have said, the most popular and “now” movies aren’t usually available except by mailing, but I haven’t found that discouraging or anything. Though when Netflix recently made “Up” available on instant demand, that DID make my week…</p>
<p>It is a lot more work and it’s usually abysmal quality. It’s like… yeah I can go get cigarettes for cheap in New York’s Chinatown but I have no idea where the hell they’ve been.</p>
<p>I mean, I guess. I don’t care enough about movies to see them regularly, so I can usually wait until they come out on DVD so I can watch the DVD ripped version, haha. And recently I’ve been watching older movies–To Sir, With Love and Dead Poets Society are my two most recent–so there’s no reason for a good quality of those to not be up. (Well, as good as is possible with older movies.) It’s not that big of a deal, I’d rather just spend that $10/month on toothpaste or nail polish or food or something.</p>

<p>definitely do netflix. i used to have the three disc at a time deal, but since the shows i watch can be streamed (and a good deal of the movies too), i dropped down to the one disc with unlimited streaming. but if most of the stuff you watch is only on discs, definitely go for more than one at a time. esp. if it’s a series or you watch a lot of stuff. you get annoyed having to wait sometimes lol</p>
<p>I prefer DC++ over Netflix for its convenience and free-ness but Netflix’s advantage is that you can watch movies comfortably on a larger TV rather than craning over your laptop</p>
<p>My biggest biff with Netflix is the lack of instant streaming movies. If a larger selection of movies were available instantly, I’d do it, without looking back. (Yes, there is a decent sized selection of instant movies, but most movies or shows I wanted to watch were not available via streaming).</p>
<p>I also did the free trial, and while the instant movies were my favorite part, there weren’t enough to warrant getting it, for me. Waiting for them to come in the mail wasn’t terrible, since it’s pretty quick. Not drive 10 minutes and get a movie quick, but quick enough. At this point, Netflix just isn’t for me, but there aren’t even that many movies or shows that I want to see (old or new).</p>
<p>I’d say go for it for now, do it at college if you’re really interested, and if it doesn’t work out, cancel. All that was wasted was $10 or so/month.</p>
<p>Another advantage to netflix is that it has a good selection of old movies and foreign movies you may not find anywhere else legally. I originally got it because I developed a River Phoenix obsession and he died so long ago that I couldn’t find his movies for rent anywhere.</p>
<p>Does the free trial come with access to Starz Play? I have yet to figure out what the difference between that and instant watch is, but it seems to have a better selection of newer movies than instant watch, and instant watch is improving more and more with selections every month.</p>
