They sent me an envelope that came the same day as my “Case for Cornell” packet that just had a “go to newstudents.cornell.edu!” flyer in it. I was like, “Uhhh, okay…”.<br>
BTW, here’s the text of the email I got:

The key to many of the university’s electronic resources is your Cornell Network ID (NetID). Together with your password, your NetID lets you enroll in courses, use your Cornell email account, update addresses including emergency contacts, and view financial information. You may need to do many of these things before you arrive on campus.</p>

<p>A letter with your NetID and activation code has been sent to you by postal mail*. Please allow four weeks for delivery to international addresses and two weeks for domestic addresses. We send the letter to your admissions address. If you do not receive the letter, please contact the Cornell Information Technologies HelpDesk by email at <a href=“mailto:helpdesk@cornell.edu”>helpdesk@cornell.edu</a> or by telephone at 607-255-8990.</p>

<p>*We will stop mailing letters to international addresses on July 30 and to domestic addresses on August 6. If you are admitted late and a letter is not sent, contact the HelpDesk when you arrive on campus.</p>

And the response I got a few minutes later from my email to Admissions from the other day:

Hello,</p>

<p>The NetID information will be going out over the next two weeks, so you should receive it shortly.</p>

<p>I thought NetIDs come by e-mail?</p>

<p>Apparently they don’t. I know that last year had the option of getting them by email and activating by cell phone but that seems to be gone as an option. I don’t even think I have a cell phone on file with them, though.</p>

<p>Have you gotten your official FA package yet? I got the estimated one in December… but nothing since =&lt;/p>

<p>They only send you an updated FA package if something in your FAFSA or latest tax returns indicate that an adjustment should be made. If not, the one we received in December stands.</p>

<p>Plus, I don’t think the FAFSAs get processed until after they’re actually due, May 1.</p>

the email will probably come first cus in the email they said they will send a mail later. so dont bother checking your mail</p>
