I know this topic has been previously covered and I've read those threads. However, if anybody has any additional insight - I'm a prospective Communication/English double major - I'd appreciate it! I was accepted to NEU EA with merit aid and have also applied to BU (among other schools).

BU has the largest study abroad program, NEU has the best co-op program.
NEU campus feels more like a traditional campus, BU is scattered about a street.

NEU lets you take classes from different schools. I think at BU there are restrictions between their schools for example, if you are not a business major you cannot take classes in the business school.

Unless you are full-pay, financial aid should be important. BU has a stingy reputation akin to that of NYU. Was your merit aid half-tuition? Have you filed your CSS Profile?

The business school rule is very common. At Northeastern, you also can’t take regular business school classes if you aren’t a business major or dual major-- you have to take “for non-business students” classes. Often these are also online, which can be a major turn off for people.

No, I haven’t yet filed for financial aid but I don’t expect to receive any. I was awarded the Dean’s scholarship - $20k a year. The money I save on undergrad education could go toward grad school. I do like BU’s College of Communication but NEU’s co-op is tempting, too.

I applied to NYU, too, but I’m not sure it’s the right fit for me.

Thanks for the responses. This seems to be a very active and helpful forum.
