NEU or RIT worth 3x as much as Pitt?

I also posted this in the Pitt forum, but then I found this one so I am asking here as well...

My son got into Pitt with Full Tuition, NEU with 17K shcolarship and RIT with 13K scholarship.

I am not anicipating need based aid except for the Stafford loan.

NEU and RIT have co-op programs which he likes the idea of.

But my question is - are NEU or RIT worth 3x (at least) the amount of money I will have to pay at Pitt? Will he get a 3x better education? Get into better grad schools etc?

He is going to start as a Comp Sci major but who knows where he will end up, he is also interested in Physics so I could see a major/minor thing there.

He has visited all 3 schools. Loved the facilities at RIT but not the location. Liked NEU. Loved Pitt, the honors college and the location.

We are visiting Pitt again for Honors Day and to meet with the Comp Sci dean and see the facilities.

As of now he is 99% going to Pitt, has sent in his enrollment already but I would love to hear any feedback on this.

Thanks

No. Pitt is a better school than either of them. If he likes it, I would declare victory now.

PITT, is a great school if he got in he should go.

Thanks, that was our thought as well.

All very good schools, but Pitt is at least 1/3 as good.

I would agree with the above posters. I would probably choose Pitt over the other two even if cost were equal. Pitt has one thing neither of the other two have: awesome athletic teams (and, as a consequence, good school spirit); also, since he got a full ride, you know he’ll be able to stand out at Pitt, which will be extremely beneficial when it comes to finding research work, internships, jobs, whatever.

In my opinion, he made a great choice; don’t look back.

So would I.

I would choose Pitt too. I would love to go to both Pitt and Clemson but I could only choose one haha

Thanks for all the input. Unless one of the schools we haven;t heard from comes in with an unexpected HUGE amount of money he has decided that Pitt it will be.

I agree, Pitt! Tell us what happens.

Go for Pitt…CMU is right down the road and sometimes they will share resources…you cannot beat it

I have heard that Pitt students can take classes at CMU. It is one of the things I want to check on when we go back the end of March,
