Do any former, current, or prospective students have any info about this program and how it compares to programs at other schools? The curriculum posted on the website seems really nice, but no one really talks about neuro on these threads...

its still a new and upcoming major. they are trying to do alot w/ it like making the courses count for the science gpa and what not. the classes are good and in alot of cases entertaining but its a popular major for pre meds b/c to fulfill the reqs it includes alot of the pre med curriculum

I visited Vanderbilt a little while ago and did an overnight. My host there was a neuroscience major. He's already into med school so I assume he's doing pretty well. I can ask him some questions for you if you'd like. Just send me a message!

my D is a neuroscience major on the premed track. She likes it because it has so many psych classes, a good balance to all the chem, bio, calc, classes. She says the classes she's had so far are very interesting. I believe it is fairly new though.

The neuroscience major here is new. I'm doing a double in neuro and MHS, and I love it! The classes offered are the perfect balace and Lesie Smith (who teaches two of classes in the department, and the general "neuroscience" class) is phenomenal! Just look her up on ratemyprofessors.com to get a feel for how wonderful she is.

I love the program and highly recommend further investigation into it for any incoming freshman. Hope this helped!
