I plan to attend Northwestern for a degree in neuroscience next year and I was wondering about the possibility that lie past college. I have heard that if you want a high-paying career in neuroscience, you need to get a phd. Is this true? What job opportunities are available for an undergrad degree from Northwestern in neuroscience?
All inputs are appreciated Thanks!
There’s not a whole heck of a lot you can with just an undergrad biological sciences degree from ANY college, besides being a lowly-paid lab technician who does grunt work for biologists w a graduate degree.
In that case, what are my possibilities after getting my undergrad in neuroscience?
You will almost certainly need another degree after undergraduate in neurosciences (or biology) to have good job options. Business and law are valid options. I know of someone who did a biology undergrad (not at Northwestern), could not get into medical school and is now doing an interesting MBA+Health Management joint course. There are other health related courses like optometry one can do.
