Neurosurgeons

<p>How long of schooling must they go through to actually have the title of a "neurosurgeon"??</p>

<p>From what I've seen: 4 years college, 4 years medical school, 7 years residency. Most then spend 2 years in a fellowship.</p>

<p>wow! ok so is the 2 years in a fellowship required or is it optional, could you spend only 1 year in a fellowship?</p>

<p>Don't know.</p>

<p>Fellowships are optional and are offered in a number of areas. This list is not all inclusive: pediatric, spine, cerebrovascular, oncology. Some are one year; some are two, depending on the fellowship. Some might have more emphasis on research.
