I've been waiting on the Williams waitlist. Is it over yet? Why haven't I received any emails?

Hey flyingllama, I’m sorry you have been waiting so long, because I was on the waitlist too and I got an email the day May 27th, it says that the process was over and that they wouldn’t be sending any letter thru mail, just email because they were trying to be “Green”… however I think if you didn’t get anything you should call the office an ask.

Hmph. That’s odd, I never got a “waitlist over” email either. I wonder how many more poor souls out there are still waiting…

That’s weird!! I am international, so probably they just sent it to the internationals, and for domestic students the process still going on, I think is better if you call the office and then tell us what happen good luck guys :)

Hey guys!! I just called the office and they said they finished the process for everyone!! so I’m sorry you never got that email… that waiting was miserable at least in my case, so I am glad I got it right away… however I had to wait all night long to never get the decision email from my favorite school and then call them up to find out that I was rejected!! This have been our finest year!!

Thank you esdienti! And I’m sorry to hear that the waiting was so painful for you. Hearing from your favorite school like that sounds truly awful. Now that the waiting is over, however, I hope all of us can settle down at last and feel optimistic about our future.

My D never asked to remain on the WL, but she got this email today:

Dear Student,

I am writing to convey the disappointing news that the Williams Class of 2014 is now complete. We have appreciated both your continued interest in Williams and your patience in a particularly uncertain admission year.
Our class currently numbers 553 students, which we anticipate will “melt” to our target size of 550. As a result, our committee is unable to add any additional students.
In closing, let me extend every best wish to you as you continue with your education. I am certain that you will add substantively to your college and that your next four years will be most fulfilling for you.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Nesbitt
Director of Admission
