My daughter is a freshman at Pepperdine. She applied to and was accepted to several prestigious, difficult-to-get-into, East coast schools. She visited Pepperdine and liked it, and decided to attend when they offered her a very generous academic scholarship. Her top-choice East coast colleges also offered her nice scholarships, but nowhere near Pepperdine's . It's costing her less than if she had attended our highly-rated state university.

Bottom line: She loves Pepperdine, the social life, the area, even the food! She has no regrets about her decision, and is glad things worked out the way they did. If you are a top student, don't let the initial Pepperdine price-tag scare you, since they offer scholarships that make it affordable.
