Never Visited

I've never been able to visit any of the colleges I want to attend (mostly Xavier and U of Iowa) so I would like to know the general vibe of the school. Any pros AND cons of the school would be highly appreciated just to help me make my decision:) I feel a lot like I'm really chancing choosing a school without visiting it, but I have no other choice, so input is highly appreciated:)

I’m not familiar with UIowa, but I’ve visited Xavier twice. Here are my impressions.

The academics seem great and the professors I met were realistic but seemed genuinely interested. Class size in the major I’m looking at (Chemistry) is about 70 kids, but reportedly lower for more discussion based classes.

The school is very engaged in their common core requirements. It is also very involved in its Jesuit tradition, although it did not seem to be intolerant. The dorms were very nice, although the food wasn’t great it wasn’t horrible either. Basketball games are a major draw for students, but don’t take away from academics. Generally, I really liked the campus.
