:) Shrinkwrap! Is FTW= for the win? forget the whining? Follow the whackjob? Please educate me :)

^For the win! You have not been spending enough time on the kids forums!

But I like the other options…Maybe WE could get something started…

After all the wonderful advice and support I have received from so many folks in this community (to call it a “thread” does not begin to do it justice), it is great to report that our son has been accepted by his first choice, Susquehanna, and I can start thinking about what to do with my newly free time (until furnishing the dorm room becomes the task).

His second visit this October–what they call an “Action Day”, with meetings with teachers, students in the major and a mock class–clinched it in his mind and my wife and I decided that, although we might have preferred Muhlenberg, it was up to him.

I deeply wish that everyone’s child lands their first choice, too.

Now, it is time to pop the cork on that bottle of prosecco from the Wine Spectator “Best under $20” list (when the tuition bills stop, it may be time for the "$20-$40 list–and it Susquehanna does not work out, I will hit myself with a bottle).

Thanks again to everyone.

Woo-hoo!!! Cheers, yabeyabe2!!

yabeyabe YAY!!! so please for you and your S. Huge congrats and go ahead and splurge on the Champaign! If you bring the bottle home you are paying less than ordering it in a restaurant so I figure you are being economical!

Yabeyabe, CONGRATULATIONS! It is a wonderful school… rural, but just wonderful!

yabeyabe: omg; you are done? are we going to lose you now? can’t imagine since you started that cc addiction thread: Mazel Tov to you and your family; never doubted it for a minute (but didn’t expect it this early!!)…have a glass of vino for me!! Susquehanna is lucky to have your son (and his parents!!)

Congratulations yabeyabe! Well done!

Yabeyabe please tell me you have at least one more child so we can enjoy your co-dependency a little longer.

yabeyabe2 - Congrats!!! That is soo exciting. Susquehanna is a wonderful school.

yabeyabe…CONGRATULATIONS!!

What a thrill for you all…and timed so nicely with the release of Assassin’s Creed…lol…!!

yabeyabe - Good for you and your son. I just looked up Susquehanna and it looks like a great school. Lucky you!

Congrats yayabe! I just read your reviews of Susquehanna and Muhlenberg and was interested in how much you and your son liked them both. My son and I were going to go to the Susquehanna open house in October but it was his homecoming so we didn’t make it. I visited it with my daughter years ago and it made a good impression then. I know two current Juniors there and both like it. I hope your son LOVES it!

Thanks so much everyone–my CC addiction will continue at least until everyone in this community has reached a happy end to their search!

Did you know that my son is a Junior? ;)

Mine’s a freshman yabeyabe! Grab a comfy chair and settle in ;)

Hey curious how many of the kids in question on this thread are boys? Seems to be a majority.

Congrats Yabey, but forget about the Wine Spectator subscription! We gave up our magazine subscriptions once we started on this college tuition business back in 2003!

I gleefully put down the cars we drive on the CSS Profile for the schools who want to know! (they are looking for “Jags” my H says) I drive a 9 year old mini-van, we own an 11year old pick-up truck & H drives a 3 year old Toyota Matrix! And ladies, never carry a designer handbag into a FA office, you have to look poor!

Susquehanna is a wonderful school, you must be very proud!

I am so excited the the good news is starting to come for our kids. I really cannot wait until spring!

yabeyabe, great news!

I have been reading this thread from the start and after all the good advice I have picked up for you all, wanted to report that dd got her first acceptance to U of Alabama. Such a relief to know she does indeed have a college to go to next year.
